An update on Gary (Catmandu) Tweedle's address:

I found out today that the post code for his hospital should be L8M 1W9 (rather than 2W9 for the last part, as I'd had before). I hope the cards with the 2W9 will still get to him.

Any experts on Canadian postal codes here that can tell me how this might work? U.S. zip codes can sometimes be wildly misnumbered and the mail still arrives at the proper destination (maybe just taking longer to get there?).

I sent my card to 2W9, too, Lut. I imagine they'll get there, maybe just take a little longer. The address says "St. Peter's Hospital" in it, so it should be pretty clear where it's supposed to go.

I got my stamps yesterday. I have received a few cards but refuse to open them until I get mine sent!

Yesterday I got Gary's card back in the mail. There was a sticker on it saying:

    RETURN TO SENDER
    OTHER REASON
    UNABLE TO FORWARD

All I can think is that someone at Canada Post was being a real stickler about the post code being wrong! Today I re-sent it with the proper code on it. I'll see if that one comes back to me, too. I hope it does get to him.

Have any of you others gotten your card to him back, and which post code did you have on it?

    Pat

I didn't get mine back but I had the correct postal code on it.

And yes, someone at Canada Post was likely being an anal twit.

I did not get it back. Maybe it is too much of a bother for Candian Post to return it to Europe. I hope they have delivered it and not just thrown it away.

I did not get Gary's card back, and I had the wrong postal code on it.

As Candace said, maybe someone there was being an anal twit, and it was when my card came along but not yours.

    That's good!

His friend Helen visited him recently and said he had gotten some cards.
