Dearest Shadow, what a stunner you are! You are an absolutely gorgeous ebony gentleman, with that sleek, shiny fur that looks so very soft, and that sweet face with the lovely big eyes that change from yellow to green depending on your mood. Sometimes they are even half yellow and half green, which I'd love to see! Thank you for sharing those great photos with us. You are Purrrfect in them all! I wish I could reach through the screen and over to Price, UT to pet you, and pet your new sister, too. I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Mommy will pet you both for me .
.
What an uplifting, heartwarming story you have to tell! You first came to Mommy's parents as a kitten weighing less than a pound. You have grown into a big, brawny boy weighing 25 pounds of muscle! You and Mommy adopted each other when you were five years old. When Mommy met Daddy and he moved in, you liked him right away. You have been with Mommy through many different experiences, even helping her through a very bad depression, and you and she have developed the deepest bond of companionship and love.
You've been through your own painful times, with two brothers who died three months after Mommy brought them home due to health problems. My sympathy to you and all your family members who miss them and grieve them. You now have your new sister who is your age, and you and she get along together just fine.
You like to sit and watch out the windows, and to follow Mommy around and watch TV with her. You love to cuddle at night, no matter how hot it gets. You also save Mommy from spiders, bugs, and moths when Daddy isn't around to do it. You and she and Daddy and your sister all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Shadow, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and Mommy and Daddy and your sister and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats. We know your two Angel brothers are rejoicing at the Rainbow Bridge!

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
