Thank you everyone... how sweet of you.

I had a very different birthday, but I did have lots of cake. I went to a memorial service for an old friend (husband of a girlfriend). He has been sick a few years and died on August 31. His oldest daughter had a baby boy on August 20th, and I'm glad he got to hold him.
