Unfortunately medical care in both Canada and the US can vary greatly if you have the connections or knowledge.

When you meet with the infectious disease (ID) specialist, can you talk with him about potentially getting some home care to come in to take care of your feet? If I remember correctly, I think that OHIP provides services like that for diabetics.
