    I thought it meant does your pet have a human name. Inky and Shadow are both common names for black pets.

    When John named our orange boy Fister, I said, no we can't call him that, but it stuck and I got used to it. I suppose Fister is the equivalent of Buster in the US.

    My mom had her good grey wool and cashmere coat on when she found out I had adopted a kitty, and since the kitty was also grey, Cashmere seemed an appropriate name. Shortened to "Cassie" and there are at least two other pets with the name Cassie on PT. One black cat and one beautiful Dalmatian who helped her mom's students learn about the number 101! My other choice for her name was Pepper, which is also common.
