    Thank you, Randi!

This morning the physical therapist had me walk up and down a full set of stairs with the cane.

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

    Thank you, Lut!

Yes, the pain I had before the surgery is gone. I can walk around now without limping! I can climb stairs without having to drag myself from one step to the next. I'm using the cane right now, and I'm working hard to keep to the limitations (no bending, no lifting more than 5 lbs., no twisting) set for the rehabilitation period. I really want this to turn out the best it can!

What goals do you have to accomplish to be allowed to go home?

They want to be sure I can move about and do what I need to do for my daily routines all right on my own.

On Monday I am going to the UM hospital to have the staples removed, and on Tuesday we have a "home eval" potentially scheduled: a physical therapist and an occupational therapist will come to my place with me to see just what I have to deal with in my regular life at home, how I can handle them now, and what adaptations might have to be made.

Thank you, Anne. Staples were removed yesterday at the hospital, and all looks well, I'm told.

Today is the home eval visit!

    Thank you!

I'm going home tomorrow morning.. Will have home health care for a while.

I'll try and check in here tomorrow morning.. Won't be on line back home right away because I don't have Internet yet in my apartment, and since I won't be able to drive, I don't know how soon I can get to the library.. takes longer on the bus. I'll probably be signing on with comcast soon after I get home, sigh.. Anyway, I'll be back here as soon as I'm able to be.
