The heck with putting my cat on a train; I want to go on a train! A cross-country Amtrak trip is on my list of things to do before I die (or Amtrak dies), but I just can't afford it. 
I've been fascinated with trains since I was a kid. The Amtrak train comes through Milwaukee daily on the way to Seattle, and I used to like to take my daughter, when she was little, to a park near the train tracks, so we could wave at the Amtrak as it went by. 
(We're pretty easily entertained around here, what can I say)
