    Yeah. It is one of the distinct feature of the Shiba Inu breed - his distinct territorial loyalty. Clings only to his master and not that social animal. He has excellent domestic guardianship trait protecting by all means his territory (place, food, toys, master) against any threat or anything posing risk to his domain. A very good watch dog.

    A recent adopter at ARF had a Shiba Inu and brought him in to meet a potential new dog. I held the dog for the owner for a bit and he was very nice. He did tend to keep an eye toward where his "mom" went. But he was calm and waited patiently.

    On a side note: The dog she adopted was brought back. I believe the Shiba did not take well to her. He kept bugging her!
    Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.
