When I lost Cassie, I called my employee assistance program through work. I felt very silly explaining why I was calling. But the rep I spoke with has 3 dogs and completely understood why I was calling and what I was feeling. He was terrific.

The support group is facilitated by Joy Davy, a licensed clinical professional counselor, and is designed to help grieving pet parents work together to deal with the difficult emotions related to losing a pet in a calm, safe, and nonjudgmental atmosphere.
