My cousin came to visit yesterday and brought me some yummy cantaloupes from her garden. They are big and juicy!!! Would go great with homemade vanilla ice cream. That's how we ate it sometimes when I was a kid.I'll share!!!

Taste of summer?
There was a little spot right outside of the kitchen on the porch where the water would collect in a small puddle after someone turned the hose on. The routine was to put a water melon in the spot and let it get cool for a day or two.
Then dad would sit on the stoop with a large knife and cut it up for us - whenever I cut into a watermelon I laugh and think about that........good times.
