    She is doing better

I just wanted to let people know she is doing better. We have tried many different treatments and nothing was working. This as far as we know isn't cancer or caused by a growth or tumor. We do not really know the cause. I read on another message board about using higher doses of Benadryl. So in a last ditch effort we started her on 50mg twice a day. Our vet said we could even add in a third dose if we felt we needed to. Her panting has eased up a good bit though she still has moments. However, she also has moments of NOT panting so this is good. She is a little dopey and tends to sleep deeply but she is enjoying life more. We know this is short lived after watching the progression for over a year but it is something.

Oh, that's good! Maybe if this continues to work, you should keep us updated. Bendryl is not strong enough for my allergies, so I take an even stronger antihistamine that I get compounded - if you want, I can tell you what that is if your vet thinks it might be allergy related.

She is a beautiful dog. I bet she does sleep a lot. I know how sleepy Benadryl makes me. I hope she continues to feel well. It's very difficult when our beloved pets have health problems and we aren't sure what to do to help them or when to let go. Good Luck!
