Leave it to Willy! When I had my tanks, the dogs and cats I had at that time, just loved eating any fish flakes that I may have dropped on the floor when feeding. Those flakes definitely had a strong aroma - rather stinky in my opinion.

WILLYGot a good laugh out of that LOL. Always up to something.
I love your tank, you have me jealous! I seriously love the corycats...they're absolutely precious. They remind me of little dogs, it almost looks like they sniff around the gravel for food first and then eat everything in sight. I saw your "rescue" post on FB, and I am so glad you did rescue him. I really like Gouramis, I've never had them because I have heard they don't make very good community fish but I suppose it depends on the species. Your new one is lovely and he'll be a lot better off in your care for sure. I wonder if he stares at his reflection because he knows he's pretty. I swear my bettas do that LOL
Thanks for posting Karen, Kay, Elli and Alysser.
The cory cats sure are busy fishies!
And Willy, well, his is th problem solver who keeps me on my toes.

Here is a photo of Skye, the pink kissing gourami I rescued last week. Settling in well. This photo was takne from across the room, because this fish still hides when I approach the tank.
My tank water is also clearer; I was overfeeding.![]()
.
I love how you have everything set up.
I used to have a pair of dwarf gourami's ages ago. They were darker than this wee one though, and not all that large.
Great rescue stories - I'm including Willy at the end!

Hi Crystal,
These kissing gouramis grow VERY large, and are actually a food source in Thailand! That is the natural green variety, not the albino / pink which is specifically bred for the fish hobby. So, Skye is ok in my 50 gallon for now, but will eventually require a 75 gallon.
The dwarf gourami is a whole 'nother story!
.
Aww, I'm so glad you got Skye to safety! S/he is lovely!
