Thanks Tina, I am sure Bob would just love a nose kiss from you.![]()
Corinna, I would love to see some pictures of Merlin, what colour is he? It is strange but I was going to name Bob Merlin at one point, I can`t remember now why I didn`t, I think it was just that the name Bob came up and it seemed to suit him!
I have never checked if Bobs height and length conform to the standard and he weighs around 50lb which I believe is about right. He is a big dog though, he dwarfs Barrys three girl springers (who live a few streets away from us) and another one who exercises on the field nearby. I believe though that there are variation in Springers according to whether they are from working or show stock, I think Bob family tree must contain a bit of both! I know he has a quite a few working champions in his ancestors but as to size, I have only seen his Mum and Grandmum (who are/were working dogs) and they were quite stocky but neither of them were quite as big nor had the longer hair that Bob has. Whatever, like you, I got him as a companion not for show and stuff so none of it matters a jot anyway! As for obdience, well, I have to say he has got me very well trained indeed!
Chris
