    OMG!

What is that like? How do people even survive it?

-16F sounds downright tropical in comparison.
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

    From the Haiku thread:

    Bright sun on old snow
    Brilliantly cold, sharp enough
    To cut exposed skin
It was down to just 1°F last night (which is -17 in Celcius), and going lower tonight, everything that "looks" like fluffy snow is frozen solid and crunchy underfoot! But there are rumors of it being maybe above freezing tomorrow afternoon ... maybe ...

Freezing temps have been such a hassle down here, mainly because of our outside plants. Fortunately temps are trending upward in past week or so, maybe it's over for us. Dogs (Yorkies) didn't mind a bit, save for my rescue Navi (a Chi w/short hair) lots of shivering, but reason enough for more cuddling with her. I'm SO anxious for warmer weather.

Honestly here & when we get these kinds of temps in the Yukon, life just goes on as normal. A cold snap in either place can last weeks! Less outdoor activities, but my nieces caught the bus to school yesterday;my brother-in-law went to work(he works in the oil patch so outside!). I took the little girls to the swimming pool & out for lunch, met my oldest niece for a drink last night! It's -40 today & I'm helping one of my nieces move! I did have to borrow a gas truck, cuz my Dad's diesel truck was struggling to keep running! The diesel gels up in this kind of cold!
