    Quiet outside now
Just the rush of snow falling
    The world hunkers down

    Pink heart-shaped cookies
Are fun to share with neighbors
    While we break the ice

Wondering if that's where the "breaking the ice" conversation term comes from, as on a morning after a storm people you never usually counter are all outside at the same time, literally breaking up ice and shoveling snow!

    February's grip
    Layers, boots, thick underwear
    damn, it's cold outside.

    I dress myself up
    shirt, pullover and jacket.
    Keys in shirt pocket?
The secret of life is nothing at all

Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all -
    Together we stand
    Divided we fall.

    I laugh, therefore? I am.

    Snow outside my door
    Tracks of rabbit, squirrel, bird
    Casting deep shadows
