It's very sad but that's life with the survival of the fittest. I am glad people rescued him but I have a hard time believing he was shunned because he was "ugly" but a blind pup will likely not ever be able to survive on it's own and caring for a protecting it puts the mother and rest of the colony at risk

That said... Still totally breaks my heart and I am glad he is safe now
