What a great mature Gray Cat you are Widgie , and you look so much like my Smokey Angels taht you put a smile on my face when I see you.
You are a Classic Gray Cat, and you really do look quite good for a Cat who is coming towards Senior Kittyzen Ship.

We just love Senior Cats here as Scrappy Two, Tubster Panther and Miquelito are all 9 0r so , and we value their maturity and their energy , athough it does come in shorter spurts.

This is Widgie, a domestic shorthair. She is eight years old and was adopted from a shelter. She doesn't get called her actual name very much though, because she has lots of affectionate nicknames, including Poo Bear, Sugar Bear, Sweetie Pie, Honey Bun, and Sugar Plum.

She likes to be petted sometimes, especially under her chin, but no picking up is allowed. Widgie hates to be picked up or held. She is not a lap cat, at least not yet. I am hopeful she will turn into one the longer she is with us. She is still a real sweetheart, so gentle and regal. She likes to sleep a lot, look out windows, and chase the little mouse on a wire that her Aunt Jill gave her. Most of all, she loves her canned cat food! When she sees that can she meows and dances and claws at the kitchen cabinets she is so excited! We sure love her!

Beautiful Widgie, Sweetie Pie! What a gorgeous blue-grey kitty you are! Your coat looks very plush and soft to pet -- I would love to give you a gentle scritch under your chin *scritchie*. You are a busy lady -- chasing your toy mouse, looking out the windows, enjoying meal times, and then taking a kitty nap

Edited to add: My kitty Cassie doesn't like to be picked up or held very much, either. I do it anyway because I like to scoop her up for kisses

I don't hold her very long, and I sometimes serve her a treat or catnip afterward. You are such a pretty lady, I don't think I'd be able to resist you! MMMMWAH!

What a beautiful princess of a girl you are, looking so regal, so elegant in your lovely, "diamond" choker! And oh, how beautifully your sparkling green eyes are set off by your sleek, grey coat! What a lucky kitty you are Widgie, to have found your way to such a wonderful forever home, forever humans who love you so completely, and unconditionally! Great thanks to your people for choosing rescue, giving one most deserving creature a paw up in life, a second CERTAINTY of a happy life! Your Mommy didn't say how long you've been home, but for sure you've already taken your rightful place in your humans' hearts, including your auntie!

And I have no doubt with time, once you've grown more accustomed to the joy of the human touch, you'll come to learn to love lap time, and the occasional cuddle!

But regardless, one thing if for sure, and that is for all the days of your life you will be cherished and adored for the very special girl that you are! Thanks for ending my long day with a BIG smile, sweet baby girl! I hope you're enjoying a very happy, extra special day of celebration, being pampered royally! Dearest Widgie, aka Poo Bear, Sugar Bear, Sweetie Pie, Honey Bun, and Sugar Plum, what a gorgeous grey lady you are! Your fur looks so soft, I'd love to be able to reach through the monitor and pet it. And you have those lovely pale yellow-green eyes, looking out at the world with such contentment. And what pretty collars you have.. one pink with a matching bell, and one with sparkling gems.. are those diamonds, perhaps? You are certainly entitled to diamond neckwear, you are so regal and gentle and elegant indeed!

You are in the prime of life at eight years! Your family adopted you from a shelter and love you dearly. You are still working out how much you want to let them handle you. Here's hoping you become the lap cat of their dreams, completely settled in, VERY soon, but they love you no matter what. You like to have fun chasing your mousie on a stick that Aunt Jill gave you, and most of all you love your canned cat food. What a wonderful love-filled FURRREVER home you all share!
