Dearest Maxi, what an utterly beautiful Maine Coon girl you are! What a gorgeous combination of colors you have in your lovely fur. It is so nice to see the back view in the mirror, too. I bet it is all just so soft to pet! And what a sweet face you have, with those pale-blue eyes.

You were very scared when you were only five months old and in that shelter, weren't you. We're so glad that that FINE Purrrson adopted you even after you bit her! She knew you needed a good home, and she decided she was just the one to give it to you. You reminded her so much of her beloved, recently-deceased Gabby. She patiently waited for you to get over your fears as you settled in to your new home, and now you and she are the best of friends and constant companions. We bet Gabby Angel had a paw in getting all this to happen!

Congratulations, darling Maxi, on being selected today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your Purrrson and Gabby Angel are all enjoying a delightful day of celebration, full of fun and lovies and head-bumpies and all your favorite games and treats, perhaps even a cookie!

Big changes in life are scary, so no wonder you felt you had to defend yourself with some bites at first. Cat people know that every kit who comes to a new world has to have some time and space to get settled in and feel comfortable. The important thing is to just be patient and let everyone in the house go at their own pace. Anyone, human or animal, needs some time to make adjustments after going through a rough period in life. Even though you were fortunate to end up in the hands of someone who only wanted to give you love and comfort, you can't always warm up to that instantly. It takes time to adjust, to trust, and to come out of your shell to fully show the lovely personality within.
