We too, have a Russian Blue, this one a long-hair Russian Blue which is more properly called a Nebelung, a rare breed that came along in the early 1980's. Pushkin, like his adopted sister Lutsa, is a rescue cat, and lived his first year in Bend, Oregon where he had a big backyard with maple trees he loved to climb.

Not a big fan of car travel, two years ago he made a cross-country trip in the cab of a pick-up to New Jersey, a ten-day trip that involved his first hotel experience and many nights camping. A very meticulous cleaner of fur, he has no problem speaking his mind, hates any closed door, and always wants to be where the action is. Running water is of course a source of endless fascination and when annoyed will demonstrate that the laws of gravity still operate by pushing small objects and full water glasses off bedside tables. In Pushkin's world, laps are definitely for sitting on.

He is most recently a resident of Elizabeth, New Jersey, but hates it, and will soon be back (with any luck) in Potomac, Montana where he can again enjoy the great outdoors. He lives in relative harmony with his sister Lutsa and parent/servants, Charles and Joyce.
Good morning, beautiful blue Pushkin! You are very noble, just like your namesake! I smiled as I read about all the things you do - like speaking your mind, being near the center of the action, and testing gravity. My kitty does some of the same things - she is a blue girl too You are such a busy fellow, and then you take time to occupy a cozy lap! I hope you get to move back to Montana and enjoy the outdoors again, although it might involve another cross-country drive! Could you please have your servants give you and Lutsa tons of petting, hugs, cuddles and snuggles for me. Happy Cat of the Day to you, gorgeous Pushkin!
