    Please give him an extra hug for me. The sad part is dogs often hide any discomfort until it is so advanced nothing can be done. Give that big ol' block head a kiss from me, okay?

    Anna, I know this is probably the last thing you are thinking about right now, but eventually you should probably contact his breeder and let them know. Osteosarcoma is in some cases hereditary, so they should know just for record purposes and to be aware of it for future pups. It usually (in dogs) affects the giant breeds more than smaller dogs, but they are still researching the causes.

    The end of an era

    I don't even know how to say this...he's out of pain. The poor guy fell Sunday night. It was the worst thing ever. He cried so much. The tumor is growing fast & he's having a hard time getting comfortable even with the meds. He was having a hard time getting around & it was only going to get worse. We've decided then he would be going to the rainbow bridge and will suffer no more. We miss our big boy.
    I'll post more in Dog Memorial.
