Hanford has been a problem site for a long time. Successive Congresses, however, haven't voted fund to fix the issues, and continual punting on Yucca mountain just make things worse.

    Okay, random thought but politics-related

Why the heck do spammers think I'd open any email that claims "Congress passed a new bill to ...." when they can't even get their act together with sequester looming?

I think our Congress is one big joke and not a funny one. They just got back from a break and will be gone again Friday. HELLO!!!! Keep your bums in your chairs until you get something done to fix the sequester mess you have coming down on OUR heads!!!
No matter what anyone does, someone some where will be offended some how!!!!

They need the breaks. Otherwise their tongues would dry out from too much time spent sticking them out at each other.

I followed the Yaquis (the team from Yucca) for a few years.

They need a new quarterback. The kicker is getting worn out.

I really find it surprising how much time & attention Media is giving to the election of a new Pope by the Catholic church. Are non Catholics really
that interested in Catholic Politics? and it is Political.

It is what's called a slow news cycle ... also, there all reportedly over a billion Catholics, so the media figures they have a big audience out there! Also, because the voting is done in secret, it leaves lots of room for rampant speculation!

THe selection of a new Pope has always been covered heavily in the media, mainly because they know they have a massive audience interested in the proceedings.

I want to know how much smoke they need for that chimney...and what the smoke is.

At least it's better than coverage of murders and all the garbage that these newscasters dig up. I know my DIL in FL is glued to every tidbit of news about this election of the new pope - you'd think she had a direct connection to anything in the Catholic church. She's fanatical!!

I personally would like to know what is so secret and hush-hush about the election process. I think the Catholic people deserve the right to know what goes on behind those closed and locked doors - afterall - it will directly impact their lives. I know the Vatican is just following age old traditions, but maybe they need to change a bit - just as the times have changed!

    No - I'm not Catholic............
