Kids! That's what it's like around here too. Never a dull moment. Having both bigger dogs and cats,
I too slip things into the microwave or toaster oven to secure them.

It is great that the leave it command worked! You can also grab a nice high value treat and offer to swap. Willy learned to swap several months before he would drop it, and even now some things are just TOO precious to drop. But a swap? Willy can't resist a bit of cheese or hot dog, ha haaa.

I once tried leaving something in the microwave, no never again. I forgot all about it! I now leave things on a plate I will need for THAT MEAL, in a cupboard, so I can't forget it 'forever.'
