This brings back old memories! Years ago I had 2 Lhasas that were diabetic - one male and one female - and I had to test their urine at least once each day. The female was no problem. I would just walk along with her, and when she decided to squat I would just slip the container (I used about a 3x5 inch plastic container) under her, and mission accomplished. The male was not so easy and was quite stubborn, and it took him a while to get used to me following him around until he decided to lift that leg. I think it made him paranoid that I followed him, and he would have preferred his privacy in such matters. Eventually he gave up and tolerated me invading his space!
