Unfortunately, the writing was on the wall. Given the fragile state, and the fact the company informed the employees the company could not withstand what they were demanding (or the legal battle it would entail), someone needed to take a step back.

Believe me, more than you know, I understand the frustrated position of the employees. I do not remember my last raise, even given several changes to my position. Our company has had salary reductions, having them reinstated, but not in a long time increases.

If a company is borderline it is not the time for a strike. These companies CAN NOT afford a shut down. Employees will lose all, as is the case with Hostess.
