Scruffing, if done properly, is a first rate way of controlling a cat. It causes them to go limp. I have used it for administering meds, transporting (use other hand under body), etc. My vet did a demonstration on Bosun when he wormed her. He had her on her hind legs and she took the strongid like a trooper just so she could get all 4 feet on the ground!
