    How about Poppy? The California Poppy grows wild on the hillsides and is a gorgeous sunny yellow-gold door in the spring! And she's a California snake, so maybe Poppy would work! Or Tansy, which is another yellow wildflower, and a pretty girlish name!

    If you like the name saffron and citrine so much why not go with one of those in a different language. She really will look the color of saffron. Here is an Italian translation. It is cute too. Saffron in Italian is zafferano (zaf fer ran o) and a variation on citrine that is cute would be citrinella (chi tri nel la). She is beautiful btw.

    Here's yet another suggestion

    How about Cornelia? A powerful (relatively, considering her gender) figure in Ancient Rome. Plus the name also seems to suit her elegance as all snakes (I don't know much about raising them) look elegant when they grow up. Please post the name that you choose!
