    update on terry

I just got a message from Terry via Facebook, her bad leg has MRSA in it,it is a staph infection, has developed sepsis from that. Her knee has to be removed for 3 months to get rid of the infection and then another knee replacement if they can save the leg.She may go home tomorrow if they can get her ready. They found a Doctor in Orlando to take her case. She has to stay on strong antibiotics for weeks. She can't walk at all,the infection took out her knee function, hopes to get physical therapy to help her walk .She says she is coming home tomorrow and her son will have to carry her in.Her Doctor couldn't take her at his small hospital, not sure if this is the one she mentioned earlier. She tells me to give her best to all her Pet Talk buddies and pets.

Oh dear Lord - that poor girl! That's a lot of serious issues that she is dealing with, and she has had such a difficult time with that knee replacement from the start. Please tell her that she is in my prayers.

BTW - do you have her address? - I'd like to send her a card. Please PM me if you do.

Thanks Barry - and thank you for the update. Please keep us posted.

Don't wait until tomorrow - the hands may then be still.

Where is Terry? I have a very personal connection with this type of case and, if she's anywhere near the MD/DC area, I would have recommendations. My brother has just lived through this; he had a hip replacement a year ago, developed a MRSA, and was on not only heavy antibiotics, but several cocktails of antibiotics through a pump - for almost a year. He was able to keep the hip (it was touch and go as to whether he would keep his as well) and has now had the second replacement. It can be beaten! Let me know if Terry needs any recommendations. Prayers continue!
