I was thinking the same thing, what is your kitty's coat like?

I've never used a brush. We have a comb that has narrow spaces between short teeth on one side, and wide spaces between long teeth on the other. My cat likes to be combed and that has worked very well.

My brother and family use a mitten - it looks a little like an oven mitt but they got it at the pet store. You just slip it over your hand and pet -- works great! Their kitty has a very plush coat so they use it a lot.
