I do not tan, never have, never will. I am a pasty white person, and am content that way. Friends that loved to tan when we were teenagers now look much older than I do, and have lines and wrinkles I associate with much older people - like folks in their late seventies. Paul's family is Irish, they tend to burn just as fast and more than I do. Paul has had skin cancer removed already, his mom is still having cancerous bits removed, and his aunt died from skin cancer that became malignant.
I do not find a tan looks "healthy," - people with naturally darker skin look fine, but one can usually spot a "tanning salon" customer from across the room. It makes me wince inwardly.
