Beautiful photographs but glad he's interested in the primula and not the bleeding heart...

"Bleeding Heart (Dicentra formosa) contains substances known as alkaloids, which can cause tremors, loss of coordination, drooling, and in severe cases respiratory distress, seizures and possibly even death. Poisonings from this plant typically involve livestock who have grazed on large amounts. However, the potential for toxicity exists for other animal species as well, so cats and dogs should not be allowed to consume this plant."

The bottom left plant casts a much larger shadow in the first picture which mysteriously takes on the shape of a cats head. That's my best guess.

Oscar was a naughty boy, getting in the way of my picture, but he wasn't nibbling the plants. Thankfully he hasn't shown any interest in doing that. He is more of a supervisor than a gardener, but will ahppily accept all kisses.
Thanks for the info Lizzie. I will certainly be keeping him away from the dicentra.

I enjoyed the flowers, but Oscar is a true heart-throb!
I'm sometimes asked "Why do you spend so much of your time and money talking about kindness to animals when there is so much cruelty to men?" I answer: "I am working at the roots." -George T. Angell, reformer (1823-1909)

I agree, the first picture is much more beautiful than the second
