George, you are one gorgeous furrbaby. I've never heard of a cat cleaning itself in water. It sounds very civilised!

I know you have some health issues, but I wish you many more years of delight. You are obviously totally adored and give so much love in return.

Congrats on being our stunning ebony COTD!

What a beautiful pussycat - I pray you have many years together still. My cat Beyli was with me for more than 5 years after diagnosis and I know you must have been devastated when you heard your kitty had CRF. I highly recommend the website felinecrf.org as well as the mailing list. I have to say that I learned so much more from other catlovers who were going through this disease than I learned from my vet (and I had a great vet). Between food (cats should eat mostly canned because of dehydration issues) and the litter (NEVER use clumping that cannot be flushed - I have actually been told by a few vets over the years that the sodium bentonite and like ingredients are killing cats organs and causing bronchitis and asthma). Luckily I had never used that litter but many do - it was created for convenience and should be taken off the market for our animals and only used in the construction of homes, where it originated!

Beyli's blood pressure was kept in check with Fortekor (Benazepril) and he also got an antacid every day to lower vomiting (Famotidine). He let me give him fluids and showed me his gratitude afterwards - he was so special. I learned so much from him about being a caregiver and about love and will miss him always.
Please have your pets sterilized as soon as possible to lower, and one day hopefully eliminate, unwanted and abandoned pets. It IS our responsibility. Adopting from a shelter also helps - encouraging breeders just adds to the overpopulation.

What better place for George Elliot than Hollywood! Are you as much a rebel as "George Elliot" was? I hope so. But I can see in your deep, deep eyes...the same light!

I wish you congrats George....and many more years with your beloved!

    Pretty Girl George

What a pretty gal you are and still very young at heart. For your renal disease, please have your Momma go to www.petwellbeing.com and check out "Tripsy". It has gotten many, very good reviews. It is a liquid supplement that your Momma puts a few drops onto your food twice a day. I use it with some of my older cats, to try to prevent kidney problems from happening, as they are very common in older cats. Please read the reviews, and possibly "Tripsy" will help you feel better too. Happy COTD, every day! God Bless.
