I hate giving my cats metronidazole too but in Zazesh's case it turned out to be the only way to deal with his problems and give him a quality life - like spending his days on the bed leaning against another cat's warm back and nights on the bed leaning into me. In your cat's case, he's young and not in hospice care so of course you are going to try other ways first. I hope you find something that works for him. Do you have a photo of him yet? Name?
