At the end of my freshman year of college when I had no idea how to find a roommate for the following year, a gal from band offered to let me share a triple room with her current roommate and herself. Over the summer her roommate decided not to return in the fall. That was over 25 years ago now, but that rather casual suggestion (Hey, why don't you room with us?) has turned into a lifelong friendship.
