For Day one:

Memories of rare childhood visits
Being in a diner was a rare thing
Reserved for road tips to nowhere
Getting to spin on a round stool
Legs flying (tuck 'em in as we pass the counter)
Just a few twirls, checkerboard floor blurring
Until someone stopped us
But still
We could see they were trying to hide smiles
Remembering their own trips
Round and round and giggling with glee

And even the blue-haired lady
In that booth over there
Gave us a smile
When she thought the folks weren't looking
Remembering her own days
As a fetching young gal
Ribbon in her hair,
Perched atop that red stool
Hoping to catch her sweetheart's eye.

Very sweet! I just love the 50's vibe in this picture.

It lies, mysterious, rotund and scarlet
Seeming to hover above the soft carpet
Like some alien craft just landed on a foreign shore
Bold and unbroken
Strong and only slightly marked by its travels,
It sits vulnerable but steadfast
Silently in sight of the slumbering monster
Sleeping in the hazy distance

After the sad ending to our year with Mark's mom passing, I haven't been taking pictures. But I hope to start again very soon

These are all wonderful, everyone! I've been internet-less for the past week or so, so haven't been posting . Had to use a filler today, but I am determined to finish this project, even if I have to skip a few days!
