    Adopting

Lut, I have not been a married woman for years and believe it best to have a Mom and Dad involved in child rearing. That being said, there are lots of women and men rearing children on their own and doing a fine job.

I am too old now, to adopt. I have been very close to several young people in my lifetime, including being a "Big Sister" as in Big Brothers/Big Sisters. My friend's children often count on me to drive them places etc., so I feel as though I have part-time kids around most of the time!

Adopting is a wonderful thing. I probably would have made a great mom, but looking back on it, there was never a time for me to feel completely confident I could support a child or two. I am a worry wort of sorts and always worry about finances, health etc. If I had been married, less worry would have been there.

Your children thrived and you are lucky. They are lucky to have had two stable parents and guardians. Children who are NOT adopted are not guaranteed good parents, so the fact that they were adopted and found two wonderful parents is in itself, wonderful.

Enjoy their time with you and hope they hang around your country and town long enough to have you share their children with them! Grandkids. Oh my, how time flies, doesn't it!

Happy New Year Lut and family. Enjoy your special days and times. And may there be many more to come.
