No, it's not sad at all. When my husband and I were first married we had two Labs, Maggie and Jasper. We always bought them gifts, bones, new beds, treats, etc. Even when the kids came along we still bought gifts for the dogs. It's not about them understanding what it is, it's about giving them gifts that makes you happy.

Casey loved Christmas. She would sit and watch us wrap and would get really excited because she knew she would be opening her presents soon. She learned how to open things with her teeth and paws. I wouldn't use a lot of tape, just enough that it was covered and then supervised her closely when she opened things.

Can't wait to see Christmas pics of Clover!

Of course, considering Clover is your model, it would be hard to go wrong, lol.

That first shot, whoa, Clover you are not an owl! How on earth can she turn her head all the way around like that? Silly pupper.

You said she took off the antlers and played with them, then the next shot is her with a branch. For a split second I thought she stretched out the antlers! He heee, you fooled me!

I can't believe you have a bit of snow on the ground! We have none here.

I also can't believe how Clover is now all grown up, such a lovely lady. She has a dignity about her, you know? Very nice the way she holds her head (when she isn't doing owl imitations).

The picture of her leaning on the sofa with her Santa bandanna on and the tree and gifts behind, that is a great photo! Good composition. And her presents are under the tree, but she isn't bothering them? Hmmm, guess you didn't wrap the bone huh? Ahahahahaaa
