I TOTALLY know about the 'stampeding elephant'! They gallop down the hallway at night...stealth for sure!

Congratulations on being COTD, Howie! Hope you get even more spoiled with treats and cuddles on YOUR terms.

Oh, and please don't trip your people or get sick on the rug. Not very princely, is it?

Eisenhower what an adorable fellow you are!!!

I love your ears. Bet not much gets by you with those, eh? I think your daddy really doesn't mind having a thundering elephant living with him very much.

Congratulations, sweetie, on being our very special Cat of the Day!!!

    Sweet Howie

Hi there - What a beautiful kitty you have there. And I also know what you mean about the stomping around - just trying to get attention I guess. My cat used to throw up quite a bit and then I found out from a good vet that dry food was not actually very good for our pussycats, who are carnivores and get more of what they need from good quality canned food. It seems that they vomit due to the fact that they have pointed teeth and therefore cannot properly crunch up the dry food and therefore it causes lots of indigestion and therefore they throw up (also they tend to gobble it down). My vet also said that it can ruin the enamel on their teeth and contribute to things like kidney (renal) issues since more bacteria ends up sticking to their teeth and goes into their gums. If you look on the CRF mailing list on Yahoo you will see sooo many members and alot have been told the same from their good vets. Some vets will tell you it's fine to feed mostly dry food but since cats are carnivores and need MEAT this makes no sense. Also they do not drink enough (and when they do it is often because a problem already exists). Or if you use that ghastly clumping litter then it is often because the cement that forms from the litter (in your cat as well as in the box) can be taking all the benefits of the liquids your cat drinks. Vets make money off of our cats being sick so we have to use our common sense more these days.
Please have your pets sterilized as soon as possible to lower, and one day hopefully eliminate, unwanted and abandoned pets. It IS our responsibility. Adopting from a shelter also helps - encouraging breeders just adds to the overpopulation.
