I can tell, true to your breed, you are one keenly bright boy, and clearly understand "human!" What a precious pup you are Hammy; consider my heart stolen! How lucky your Mom and Dad are to have been blessed with a "first" as beautiful, as smart, as loving and loyal as you! Your Mom and Dad aren't the first, first timers to learn that furkids, especially puppies, can be umm, "work," just like 2 legged children (especially those high energy breeds like Aussies)! But in the end, what a small price to pay when the reward is unconditional love and unwavering devotion, endless laughs and smiles, and a heart full of love! How lucky your family is to have a best friend, soul mate and protector for life in you, Hammy! I think with time even Carter will come around, too!
