I thought I might tell you what I feed. Right now the kitties get Eagle Holistic canned, Salmon and Shrimp flavor, morning and evening. It's basically eliminated the diarrhea. I started on it because Emily, the new rescue, was sick from eating garbage and the Blue was too rich for her tummy. All like it now. I do supplement with BLUE Buffalo canned and some Appetizer's, but not much. The regular Friskies canned food was causing diarrhea for one of the kits. And cat tuna is not always the best for cats, although I know it is hard to convince the kitties otherwise.

The canned food is just a treat or appetizer. They free feed all day long on Blue Buffalo Wilderness Dry, Chicken or Weight Control. I have two that really prefer the dry and nibble on the wet.

I know for myself that stress is a big factor in my own allergies.

Wish you the best of luck with this fellow. Do get the test done and maybe time and lots of love will heal his wounds.

PS. I've given away lots of food, too.

You sound like me, only I have 5 cats and have no idea who is doing the "plops" in my living room. ONLY the living room. Only in one area. And they are big loose plops.

I had thought for months it was RIP Honeybun, but he's not here anylonger, so I know now for sure it's not him. Now I have to figure out who it really is. I'm soooooo confused. Normally it happens when I go away on the weekends, or for an extended vacation during the summer months (I'll go camping for a week at a time). So I figured then it was separation anxiety. But now, it's happening during the week when I'm here at home, so it shouldn't be separation anxiety, should it?? I mean, I work, but I'm not going to quit my job just to make the cat happy and not poop, lol.

It's just testing every limit of my sanity to not scream at them to stop pooping and knock off the behavior, like I'd want to do with the kids at school, lol. Not that they'd listen or understand (like the kids at school, lol). These cats are just driving me up a wall. I THINK it's Sophie, but I'm not sure. Part of me says maybe it's my new guy, but it's been going on WAY longer than he's been around. So maybe it's not him. SIGH... I dunno. Sophie was a pooper out of the box from way back, so she's the first one who is coming to my mind. It's just so frustrating. And I can't afford a video recorder to see who is doing it. We tried a night vision camera, but came up with too bright picture of every cat in the house, and none of them pooping, lol. OY.

I have used every food under the sun, and it doesn't seem to matter which one I choose. Right now they are all on Blue Buffalo Sensitive Digestion. I want to get California Natural, because it worked best in the past, but I can't find it anywhere around here. It's driving me nuts as well.

Good luck and hope we both find a solution!!

The vet just put my sweet boy on steroids. I've given him the prescribed dosage for 2 days. The first day his diarrhea was not as frequent and he seemed happy and was active but last night he went a lot and today he's not active at all. I cut out all canned food and am giving him boiled breast of chicken and Solid Gold Katz-n-Flocken dry which is lamb and chicken which is a recommended food from his allergy panel. I've had all the stool test done and they come back negative.

He has been on the steroids for a week. The diarrhea has changed in consistency, not as runny, and not as frequent. I thought he went over 3 stacked baby gates and deposited a couple piles in the living room but he found a hole in the bottom one that I did not notice. So that's fixed. I have noticed that he appears to be feeling better and he is one "bad boy". Smart and into everything. I would find that amusing if I wasn't so worried about his diarrhea. The vet said there's about a 50/50 chance we can help him. He is a sweet boy but I find it very difficult living like this. He has another week on the steroids . . . say a little prayer for him.

Prayers and healing energies for him and you too.
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
