What elegant beauties in that family!
What elegant beauties in that family!
Yes - she was a strong hardy cat...I was happy to read that she finally decided to become a 'semi-pet'...! And that two of her kittens grew up with her.
Jessica lived a long wonderful life!![]()
I just had to write after reading her story - especially to thank you, her human family, for having the heart to not take all of her babies away from her. In a world where so many litters are born for human selfish reasons (to sell, to show their children a birth, sterilization not done) I always feel so sad for those momcats who have their babies only to have them ripped away from them, over and over. It can't be easy on them at all - so bless you for keeping a few of her little ones with her, although I know it wasn't your doing that she have those litters.
Please have your pets sterilized as soon as possible to lower, and one day hopefully eliminate, unwanted and abandoned pets. It IS our responsibility. Adopting from a shelter also helps - encouraging breeders just adds to the overpopulation.

Angel Beyli's Mom thanks you!
Congratulations to dear Jessica on being honored as today's Cat of the Day!
I have always loved your 3 gray ladies who looked so much alike, it is so nice to see your beloved Jessica honored today.
I'm so sorry that she has gone to the Rainbow Bridge but she did enjoy a wonderful long life with you and her two gray daughters by her side.
I loved reading more about her background, I always loved the way her character showed through in all of her photos when she death-glared the camera.
RIP sweet Samantha

Thank you for sharing Jessica with us. Indeed she was a special cat to you and you gave her and two of her kittens a wonderful home, the best she had ever had. I'm sorry for your loss and I'm sure you miss her. I can tell from your tribute that you loved her very much. I'm glad she was chosen as COTD!
Oh Jessica, aren't we all blessed today to see you honored as Cat of the Day? I am so happy for you and your human family too.
Do you suppose you could inquire after my Rascal for me and be sure he is settling in at the Bridge.
You are missed Jessica - we simply never get to have you in our lives long enough and I know your Mom misses you terribly.
You are so beautiful.
What a beautiful kitty! I loved hearing her story.

It is Jessica and the Killearn Kitties! How I have enjoyed seeing the pictures and reading their story today! The last picture gives me leaky eyes. I know Phred will give Jessica a huge hug today for me and I will get to give her one myself, One Fine Day.

That is very nice that Jessica was honored as CotD! What a character she was! I never knew her entire story, but it seems she had chosen a very good life with her humans who respected her independant nature, and who gave her and her babies a loving home.
Jessica, you've been a part of Pet Talk for so long, and you still are...![]()
How special that one of our very own, "the original Grey Lady of Killearn," was our very special Sunday Cat of the Day!Lucky Pet Talkers, those who had the honor of meeting you, sweetheart! You will always hold a special place in the hearts of all of us here! What a beautiful kitty you were, Jessica; what a beautiful, wonderful, happy life you led, truly enchanted! And no doubt you were the best mommy to all of your babies, too! What a lovely picture that is of you with your kids, Samantha and Smokey! They're just as beautiful as you! You truly were one of a kind, Jessica, and your Mommy so very lucky to have known your love and companionship those many years!
Hope you enjoyed a very happy day at the Rainbow Bridge, sweet Jessica, celebrating with all our beloved furry angels!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
