I have to agree with Coopers' Mom; at least they brought him back to be adopted again instead of just letting him go to possibly be hurt or become ill. Whatever the reason, their loss is definitely your gain; he looks like a wonderful guy. Just don't let a black cat out during the craziness of Halloween; don't want him to get into any trouble.
