Pearl's really pretty! Not so sure I'd like the 'biting' part!

LoL, corn snakes are usually so docile that it amuses me to no end when they show a spicy side. I would guess that she hasn't been handled much since she came from someone who has rather a lot of animals and probably doesn't get to spend a lot of one on one time with individual snakes. I'm sure she'll settle down with some handling, but I've always wanted a corn with some 'tude, so I almost hope she doesn't!!

Here is her future husband, come spring! My Kostya! <3

Pearl sure is a pretty girl snake. With her feisty disposition being the way it is, would she pass this on to her future babies? Are snakes fussy about who is their mate? Kostya is a handsome fella too.

Congrats!!! I'm not really into snakes but she is a pretty one. It's kind of funny that her name is Pearl and that she's feisty because my cat named Pearl is the same way.

It's possible that her disposition will be heritable, but I think she's actually a pretty mellow snake who hasn't been handled much. I had her out briefly last night and she didn't do any of the usual "mean snake" things like rattling her tail or coiling her neck, she just seemed nervous.

Her teeth are really sharp, but not very long, so it feels like being lightly prickled by lots of tiny needles. I didn't think it hurt, really...it just surprised me! I think she's really pretty too. Her husband Kostya is a LOT smaller htan her right now, but we'll get to find out in the spring if he agrees that she's pretty!

Thanks Tracey! I find that a lot of people who aren't crazy about snakes like my pink ones ok. Maybe it's because pink is so unusual in reptiles. Your Pearl is lovely too, is she bitey?

Pearl doesn't bite me unless she get over stimulated. Then she'll get nippy. She will bite her siblings though especially Storm. She'll start out by being very nice to him and licking his head. Then she'll bite him hard and start boxing him. Poor Storm can't trust her now and I don't blame him. They have a love/hate relationship.

We have a snow corn and people always gravitate to him over our other snakes too. We've always thought it was for 2 reasons, he's our smallest snake (our others are boas and pythons), and because pink is often seen as an "innocent" color (babies and little girls, springtime and Easter, etc.).
