"That's the power of kittens (and puppies too, of course): They can reduce us to quivering masses of Jell-O in about two seconds flat and make us like it. Good thing they don't have opposable thumbs or they'd surely have taken over the world by now." -- Paul Lukas

Auntie Elyse, thank you for keeping up with me! Meowm & Paw aren't putting anything else down my throat. We went out on the deck for the first time in SO LONG this evening. I recently started sleeping in my normal position behind Meowm's knees. I think I'll be OK.![]()
GO RAVENS!!
Little Pinot- that is very good news. You gave us a good scare- please keep getting better.
Dearest Pinot, we are so glad you are feeling so much better!
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
-- Terry Pratchett (1948—2015), Sourcery
When I had bunnies, and when they would bite each other (at first) the vet would check out the spot where the biting took place and then tell me to apply Bennadine (sp) a solution they use to swab operation sites with humans. Bunnies don't do nicely with medications taking internally. It has Iodine in it and is quite good at drying out and protecting from infections. Those bunnies did some serious biting to each other before the declared a cease firing...and began to love one another. Each time, the site healed nicely after applying the Bennadine each day. It looked a bit odd, since it stained the fur but the bunnies didn't mind it, it was easily applied and it worked. I did this same thing for a hot spot on one of my cats and it worked for her too.
I hope your little girl stays on the road to recovery. It sounds as though she is and we are all happy for you. It is heart breaking when a kitty begins to fall ill.
I don't monitor my cats' eating. I free feed so I wouldn't know who is eating and who isn't. I don't feed them canned food. They get turkey and chicken when I have it....and some tuna too! I do have them weighed each year at the annual visit. Never a change...including the tubby one, Lucy. She is tubby by nature, compared to my sleek and wiggle worms, the two Abyssinians, Juni and Chloe.
Fingers crossed for Pinot, the princess, to be totally well soon!
