Waking up with a scorpion on your sleeping bag is NOT a fun experience.....especially when your squad mate decides to help you and kill it with his boot....and it's in a sensitive area of the male anatomy.

I ran across this ugly critter a few weeks ago, hanging on the outside of the house. Thank goodness it was outside. After I took her pic, I sent her on her way to Spider Heaven. I decided to Google it to see what it was since it sure looked deadly to me at the time! Poor thing was an ordinary garden spider. Oh well - it should have been in the garden instead of hanging on the house - serves it right. That round thing to the left is a pod, so I guess I killed innocent babies too.
Yes - I know - the house needs a bath!

Did you try talking to it ???
I mean, ask it WHY it was in your sleeping bag ???
I would have done that. And if it didn't answer me, I'd squish it with my boot to.

Like Miss Z., I like spiders. I ignore them no matter where they are unless they are really big and I'm afraid one of the cats might get an upset stomach from eating it, then I capture it and put it outside. I'm always rescuing spiders from sinks and tubs by putting a cloth down so they can crawl out and scuttle off.

However, I do have an aversion to the small black spiders that walk sideways like a crab because they will bite me and always cause a big lump that will last a week. I capture them if I can but will kill if I have to because they will harm me.

And, if faced with a black widow spider, or, even worse, a scorpion, I would be murderous.
