A more experienced cat-owning friend of mine explained what that's all about. Your cat has the 'oh #@&!s'. As in 'oh #@&!s I have to run over here . . . oh #@&!s now I have to run over there . . . .' They all get moments of it. We had a little calico creature with long spindly black legs when I was a kid who did it up and down the hallway with our tabby, so loudly my mom started calling her Whompetty, after the noise that she made.
Limpet had a real thing for long skinny things. Zero interest in anything round, ball-shaped, three-dimensional, all stuff like that. We finally resigned ourselves to the fact we just weren't going to have the satisfaction of buying her new cool cat toys because she just didn't care. Pens and drinking straws for her. To get her attention a thing had to be longer than it was wide, and then it was a dead . . . thing.

Alani & Blaze do the zoomies too but this is expected because they're still young. What I love to see is when my 15 1/2 year old Storm goes into hyper mode. All of the other cats just sit there and watch him too. When he does this I call him a speeding bullet. If you're in his way, he might even knock you over. He hasn't done this in quite a while so when and if it does happen it's a major event for him.
