Shameful and heartbreaking!

I think that Delaware is finally getting it right. There was an article in our town community paper last week, about a woman who was arrested on felony animal abuse charges, and was being held at the woman's correctional center on $4000 secured bond. She had left her rottweiler in her jeep while she went into a store. A good samaritan walking by saw that the dog was in severe distress (temps in the 90's) and called authorities and someone got the dog out of the vehicle and into an air conditioned store and was trying to assist it with ice from her McDonald's drink. The SPCA arrived and transported the dog to a local vet where it was determined that it needed to go to a special veterinary center upstate. Unfortunately, the dog died by the time they got there. Poor dog!! I hope that woman gets the book thrown at her. The utter stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me.
