Holy mackerel!!!!! That's one BIG dog. I converted stone weight to pounds - 18 stone is 252 pounds. That's 2 1/2 of me!Can you imagine feeding that little guy???
I wonder what his life expectancy is?

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1The clock of life is wound but once and no man has the power
To know just when the hands will stop - on what day, or what hour.
Now is the only time you have, so live it with a will -
Don't wait until tomorrow - the hands may then be still.

Any Great Dane's life expectancy is shorter than most smaller dogs, 7-10 years generally.
There have been posts about George here before, isn't he a beauty? They did a good job raising him, lots of dogs with that build are subject to bloat, which can kill them.

A friend of mine has owned Great Danes all of her dog years and only one male survived to be 9. At age 7 they are considered very old . They have a tendency to develop heart problems. I have to wonder what this dog's lifespan will be. Fabulous looking dog but I don't think I could cope with the size. I wonder if there's a dog bowl made that would hold enough to fill this dog , I'd be curious to know what the cost of feeding it would be![]()

Our Gracie, who was 3/4 Great Dane, amazingly lived to be 14 1/2, which her vet attributed to her being spoiled rotten. I can attest to the fact that they will eat you out of house and home while growing up (at least 18 months) but after that, don't eat more than any other big dog. Gracie got 4-5 cups of kibble with whatever add-ibns were available that day from the people cooking, of a 1/4 can of wet dog food mixed in, just once a day as an adult, slightly less when she was a senior and slowing down. Gracie was around 145 pounds at her optimal weight.
