Found only in northern oceans, the 22 species of auks are stocky seabirds that stand upright like penguins. All members of the family are expert divers that use their short wings both for flying and as flippers for swimming in pursuit of fish, shrimp, and other prey.

We have a successful guess and while the guesser is determining whether she wishes to hostess the next puzzle, I've posted the guessers in point-order. Hopefully we'll get an answer soon on who will be the next puzzle-meister! Well played, all! Good game.

If folks can wait until Christmas, or the day after, I would be happy to host the next puzzle. Otherwise, let it go the highest point-getter!

My two cents -- it would be best to wait until after Christmas due to so many being in the midst of travel or having company in/being company somewhere, but it's your call...
