I've got an extensive medical background and figured it was a petit mal seizure. The vet says that cats don't have petit mal only grand mal seizures, with the jerking, stiffness and foaming at the mouth. All the signs he was exhibiting led me to believe it was petit mal. The vet said because Spike is 9+, it might be early signs of seizures. Only way was to watch him and document any other episodes.

My big guy is a lovable lug who was dumped off at a shelter outside in a VERY small carrier. He's got pooping issues, but nothing I can't handle.

His favorite spot is in the bathroom sink. He takes up the entire sink, LOOK:

I teared up reading this too. I've gone through it before and it's utterly horrifying. I hope it was just shock from the pain and wasn't a seizure. Hugs to you and Spike.

Wow, that was scary just reading it! I'm glad Spike is ok. I'm sure you'll keep a close eye on him and if it is seizures, they can be managed w/medication. My dog RB Charmin had seizures, was put on meds, and never had another one again. She lived to be 18 1/2. I'm sure Spike is in good hands.
    Blessings,
