    Bad News

Zoee started to limp again on Tuesday night. But I had stopped giving her the Previcox when she came home. I have called the vet and found out extended use of Previcox is not harmful to her at all. So I've started her on it again and will see what happens and what next step we want to take. The doctor mentioned surgery and I DO NOT want to do that unless necessary. My thing is, I want to know what's wrong. She wanted me to bring her in for a re-check and then xrays. Which I might do in a couple weeks or so. But I'm going to just monitor her and continue to give her the meds and see how it goes. At the same time I don't want it to progress and end up needing surgery anyway. She's not limping THAT bad and I feel like I'm just freaking out over nothing and just jumping at the littlest things. She is still running like she always has. It doesn't slow her down at all. Sigh......
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Poor mommy. I know how you feel. Any limp is still a limp. Mz Logan can run too, but I think the urge to get at the critter, supercedes the pain. I always think that in the wild, only the strongest survive and any injury makes them an outcast or prey, so the injured try not to show it. Nice try Mz Logan. I hope Zoee doesn't need surgery and that the meds help her. I'll be watching this thread.

Oh man, just when I thought you were all set.

Is she generally a calm dog at the vet? I know some dogs can be still for x rays and not need anesthesia -- in which case, that would be a good next step. Even if she just needs sedation, that would be helpful. Get more info as to the issue. But if they have to anesthetize her, then you may want them to go straight to surgery (if they can), while she is still under.
